Anselm Kiefer
Anselm Kiefer was born in 1945 in Donaueschingen. He pursued his art studies at the academies in Freiburg, in Karlsruhe with Horst Antes and Joseph Beuys in Düsseldorf. His monumental material paintings often assume a critical role towards German history and place him among pre-eminent exponents of contemporary art.
