Daniel Blau

For this talk, David Bate explored relations between photography and dissolution in the context of our exhibition ‘Haunting the Chapel: Photography and Dissolution‘ at our London gallery. He explored the idea of a process of decay as it relates to both photography and the allegorical meanings that may arise from it.

David Bate is a photo-artist and writer, his recent works include Australian Picnic, Bungled Memories and Zone. His books are Photography: Key Concepts and Photography and Surrealism, Sexuality, Colonialism and Social Dissent, 2004. He teaches photography at the University of Westminster, London, UK.
